Law: In Mexico, the court system is divided into federal and local courts. Mexico’s civil law system is derived primarily from Roman law, which is based on the written codes and statutes of Emperor Justinian. Mexico has established a body of legal rules in codes, but judicial precedents are also useful in the decision of cases.
Translation of documents: For legal and official purposes, Mexico has regulations about translation of documents. You will be required to submit to the Mexican authorities a certified translation performed by an official expert authorized by the Judicial Council of the State of Court of Baja California.
California Apostille services: The California Secretary of State provides Apostilles to authenticate public officials’ seals and signatures on documents, so they can be recognized in foreign countries that are members of The Hague Convention of 5 October 1961.
